If you have any photos of Cody that you would like to add, please send them to me.
I think we’ll all forever wonder if there was something we should of or could have done. This is a fitting song because of that sentiment. Here are the lyrics.
Would you know my name?
If I saw you in heaven
Would it be the same?
If I saw you in heaven
I must be strong
And carry on
‘Cause I know I don’t belong
Here in heaven
Would you hold my hand?
If I saw you in heaven
Would you help me stand?
If I saw you in heaven
I’ll find my way
Through night and day
‘Cause I know I just can’t stay
Here in heaven
Time can bring you down
Time can bend your knees
Time can break your heart
Have you begging please
Begging please
Beyond the door
There’s peace, I’m sure
And I know there’ll be no more
Tears in heaven
Would you know my name?
If I saw you in heaven
Would you be the same?
If I saw you in heaven
I must be strong
And carry on
‘Cause I know I don’t belong
Here in heaven

My Brother’s Song
In the quiet of the night, I hear your voice,
A whisper carried on the wind, a distant choice.
You walked a path so fraught with pain,
Yet in my heart, your love remains.
The streets you roamed, the battles you fought,
A life of struggle, a soul distraught.
Yet in the shadows, your light did shine,
A brother’s bond, forever divine.
Taken too soon, by a cruel hand,
A bullet’s sting, I can’t understand.
But in my heart, you live on still,
Your spirit free, your voice so shrill.
I miss you dearly, every day,
In memories, you’ll always stay.
Though addiction claimed your weary soul,
In love and grief, I’ll find my goal.
Rest now, dear brother, free from strife,
In the arms of peace, embrace new life.
Your song will echo, in the stars above,
A testament to our unbroken love.

Who was my brother Cody to me. He was a good kid with a kind soul, always gentle and walking a straight path. He despised wrong directions in life, always speaking out against bad choices and distancing himself from them. Yet, despite his best efforts, the temptations and hardships life threw at him eventually led him astray. My heart broke then, and now it lies in pieces.
He loved adventure, such as flying air planes. He knew so much about planes. He always said he wanted to take me for a ride. I wish I would have gone now. Fly high

A sudden silence, a life cut short, A brother lost, a love distorted. Memorial Day, meant for memories bright, Now shrouded in darkness, a permanent night.
A gunshot rings, a life ebbs away, The perpetrator locked up, facing judgment day. Murder they say, a fitting decree, But no charge can bring your brother back to thee.
The questions they swirl, a tempestuous storm, Why him, why now, a heartbreaking norm. Days turn to nights, a blur of despair, Searching for answers, a burden to bear.
But through the sorrow, a flicker of light, Memories of laughter, a beacon so bright. Hold onto those moments, let them guide you through, And know that your brother will always be with you.
